Hi everybody!
Yes, we are on the road again! We left Atlanta on May 13th 2007. Just outside of
Douglasville, GA we had a flat on the trailer, so we fought with local stores to find a
replacement tire, which finally turned out that a local store called U-tires had one of
the tires on hand and even so they were about to close, still had compassion for us
and changed the tire. We made it out to Mississippi welcome center. Here we called
it the first night on the road and the second night married....

The next day we left around 9:30am local time towards Memphis, TN. On State Route
78 we got involved in an accident with our Nissan and Skamper. Both of us are all
right, also the dogs ended up fine thanks to a crate! The Camper and Car are badly
damaged, it took us a while to find a service center for RV's and Nissan's out here-
cause there is nothing out here!!!!!
Finally we got in touch with a local shop which towed our Camper to Sherman's RV
Center, where it is currently being evaluated for repair.
Our Nissan was sent to AAA Body and Glass shop in Tupelo, MS; here it is also
being surveyed and hopefully repaired.
We did not take any pics, sorry, but for some reason we were pre occupied! (Damn,
didn't do a good job in providing update pictures- guess I'm not a paparazzi!)
In Tupelo we tried to get a decent size Rental vehicle which turned out to be harder to
find than a virgin in a maternity ward!
We ended up with a little Chevy Aveo, this toy has barely the ability to move! For sure
not to call itself a car!
We finally got in touch with a Rental agency in Columbus, MS ; about 60 miles south
of Tupelo- completely out of our planned Route! Isn't that road fun????
In any event we stayed this night in a hotel ( eewww!) but we decided to check the
local Walmart for a tent and a couple of sleeping bags. So we will continue our
adventure on the road again with tents- since we are hardcore Campers, and just
because we loose our warm private shower, a queen size bed and private kitchen,
we will not give up! So check back soon as we will post some pics and more from our
exciting Tent Travel 2007

Our Honeymoon Trip
Our Trip took us through Mississippi, the Arkansas
wine country, Route 66, New Mexico and Colorado.
We experienced snow in May and desert sand
dunes. Ghost towns and major cities.
This are the pics of the car after the
crash. The trailer is a  total loss. We
do not have pics of it at this time.
As we said before we are all fine
and continued our trip with a rental
car. The car and trailer is still in
Tupelo, MS where we hope it will
be fixed by the time we come back
home! Thank you all for keeping us
company on our trips...
Hello everybody!
We are at this point in Santa Fe, NM! We are staying on a 64 acres Hacienda all by our
selves!
After a couple of days of refreshing our minds and settling down we found this nice place
where we actually have some Internet access so we can update our site-
We arrived on Monday morning in Mississippi shortly after 10:30am we where involved in an
accident where we lost our car and trailer. Somebody cut us of on Hwy 78 about 30 miles
north of Tupelo, MS. After a day of searching for a rental car and getting things in order, we
finally left on Tuesday for our honeymoon! Our first night without a trailer we arrived in
Arkansas, in North Little Rock- here we found a nice KOA Campground which also had
Cabins for Rent- course no water or bathrooms in the cabin, beds only! So we had to use
the public showers and bathrooms, which turned out that Patti was much less of a "big
baby!" than I was!
The biggest reason why we decided on a cabin instead of
our newly purchased vacation home  (tent), was the
weather. With rain and storms we thought a cabin will
provide much better shelter, and we really didn't look
forward in putting first time a tent together in the rain and
dark! (These pictures were taken the next morning after
the rain, duh!)
Yesterday we did nothing else than traveling, we left Little Rock, AR around 11am and went
on I 40 West towards our first real goal - Route 66 !
And we made it!
Last night we spend on a Truck stop in Texas in the car. On the way to Texas we did what we left for -
explore. We explored the wine country in Arkansas and stopped at a vineyard called "Wiederkehr"; you will
find signs for it on I 40 W. This vineyard was founded by Mr. Wiederkehr of Switzerland. Today they offer also
RV places, free wine tasting, and yeah, it's good! - and a restaurant under ground. There are also a few
other vineyards around, definitely included in our next trip out west.
On Thursday we arrived in Santa Fe, NM, where  we stayed  on a 64 acres Hacienda. You may visit their
website for the Hacienda.
In this picture you
meet Walther, our
traveling Gnome.- A
wedding present
from our good
friend Stephen
Stewart. You will
see Walther
frequently.
The Hacienda is located about 30 mins outside of Santa Fe. It is close to the Village of Madrid, where a
long time ago a bunch of Artists got together and turned this old mining town into an artist market and
cultural center. Today you can find in Madrid from hand woven fabrics, paintings and sculptures to stone art
work. Even the local saloon is worth to stop in and try one of their Bison Burgers.
